DH and I love the name for a girl but we keep swapping from one to another! Any thoughts?

Also I absolutely love the name of Jasper for a boy but all my DH Can think of is its a nn for a wasp! Ideas on similar names for a boy or how I can convince himWink

Clemency sounds very pretty and more feminine. Is Clemence also a boys' name, or have I got that wrong?

Caspar instead of Jasper?

Clemency.

Clemence in an English accent sounds like a man's name and pronounced the correct French way, Clémence, would sound odd unless you or your partner are French.

squoosh · 08/01/2014 21:13

Odd because you'd need to assume a French accent to pronounce it correctly not odd just because it was a French name.

Clementine?

I loved Jasper, (we had a dd-Florence). Previous ds is Dylan. Also like Oscar, Noah, Joseph, Harrison, Elliot, Nathaniel, Gabriel, Finlay

Thanks ladies, yes I think if you say Clemence with a French frog accent (which we're not and don't have!) it doesn't sound quite right! Boys version is Clement.

I really like Oscar too but it's quite popular locally and wanted something a bit more unique but not pretentious or trendyConfused

Clemency, and the Italian and Spanish versions (Clemenza and Clemencia) are all lovely names!

squoosh · 08/01/2014 21:42

Clemenza sounds a bit contagious!

Bluestocking · 08/01/2014 21:52

Clemenza - achooo! Maybe not in English.Grin

Clemency is lovely for a girl!

Jasper is quite nice or how about Cassius or Quentin?

Puddles1234 · 09/01/2014 22:27

Clemency or Clementine.

For a boy how about,

Felix
Hugo
Caspian
Rupert
George

Clemence! The extra syllable with the Y is too fussy and girly for my taste.

Only1scoop · 10/01/2014 00:10

Clemency makes me think of criminals being pardoned....also my Dp calls wasps Jaspers....think it's a man thing.

I quite like Clemency. Also Clementina. Not so keen on Clemence for the same reasons previous posters have given.
