May I ask your thoughts on Lydia, Betty, Emily, Eleanor, Vivien/ne?

Lydia
Betty
Emily
Eleanor
Vivien/ne

These seem to be the only girls' names in existence that DH and I agree on, but I wouldn't know which of these to go for.

Also any ideas on boys' names in a similar vein, we haven't agreed on any boys' names yet except perhaps James?

Many thanks!

I've got an Emily and I love it, but it is very popular though so we hyphenate with her middle name to differentiate. I did this as she missed out on a nursery full time place as someone said, oh yes, Emily is next, and gave it to the 'other' Emily. I know it should've been my Emily though as it went on age preference and our Emily was five days older! she did get her place soon after though Smile

Betty all the way!!! Love love love it, it was in my final 2, but was put off by friends and family accents, unable to say beTTy, sounding like beh-ie, went with another name that people mistake for Cindy so lose lose for me, should of gone for Betty. DO IT!!!

Love Vivienne
or Vivien
NN would be ViVi Smile that's so cool

ashtrayheart · 07/01/2014 21:03

I love Vivienne, I had a friend at school with this name and she was very cool!

Bankholidaybaby · 07/01/2014 21:11

Why not go for Elizabeth on the birth certificate and call her Betty? She'd then have loads of options when she's older: Bessie, Eliza, Libbie, Elsie, Beth etc.

Love Vivienne, prefer that spelling to Vivien.

Like Betty, but love Betsy, have you considered that?

MrsTerryPratchett · 08/01/2014 03:23

I like all but Lydia. What about Emmeline?

BunnyLebowski · 08/01/2014 07:56

I love Betty and Vivienne.

The others are utterly boring in comparison.

mumtosome61 · 08/01/2014 07:57

Emmeline, Vivienne and Betty are brilliant. I agree with Elizabeth on the BC, that way she can pick.

HomeHypno · 08/01/2014 08:02

Eleanor is my favourite of those, and I love the nickname options of Elly or Nora.

TheBookofRuth · 08/01/2014 08:15

I think they're all lovely names except for Betty, although I like Elizabeth.

Haahoooo · 08/01/2014 08:20

Love Vivienne and Eleanor, with a preference for Vivienne as it is a bit more unusual.

SS3J · 08/01/2014 09:13

Vivien gets my vote!

Thisisanoutrage · 08/01/2014 09:32

Love Lydia (as I have one) and I think I like Vivienne but it makes me think of Pretty Woman.

Rosencrantz · 08/01/2014 11:57

Pretty Woman is not a negative association for Vivian! ^

Saharap2 · 08/01/2014 21:15

Eleanor
Emily
Lydia

In that order

Not as keen on the other two
