Yvonne or just Evie

I'm pg with our first and don't currently know the gender. However if it's a girl, I want to call her Yvonne after my mum but shortened to Evie.

Shall I bother with "officially" calling her Yvonne or just go straight with Evie?

There is a Scottish spelling which is Yvie - pronounced just like Evie. Might be a nice compromise?

If you plan on calling her evie, then I wouldn't bother with Yvonne. Just call her Evie.

I would just go with Evie personally.

Evie is very very trendy that I would worry about it being overused and soon becoming dated.

Yvonne, on the other hand, is a lovely classic underused name that will stand the test of time much better.

Why not Yve (eve). More classical than Evie, less likely to date and you can still use Evie as a nn.

Go for Yvonne. I don't know of any little Yvonnes.

Evie could also be Evelyn so if its after yor mum maybe it needs a stronger link to her name - either by officially making her Yvonne or by using some of the other suggestions. I love Yvie

I think go for Yvonne and shorten to Yvie!!
