Please help me whittle down my girl's shortlist

I'm all sorted for a boy's name but just can't settle for a girl. Baby due last week so getting worried will come and remain nameless, really want to announce the name and birth all in one go. Would love your thoughts. Surname will be double barrelled of two very normal names.

I think Xanthe, Clara and Carys are lovely. Not so keen on the others.

I love Xanthe, Carys and Clara but the others aren't for me. I especially dislike Hope (I just don't like virtue names).

Iris and Hope are my favourites. I like Isla too. Not keen on the others.

I love the name Honor, I also love Isla.

Clara is beautiful and not as popular as some of the others.

Xanthe is a lovely name, I know a teenage Xanthe and she suits it - outgoing and very feisty - but I think it is a name that suits a certain type of person, so I wouldn't be sure on that one.

Thanks for all your comments. Seeing your views has definitely helped me clarify my thoughts. I think Xanthe and Clara are my favourites at the moment. I know what you mean about Xanthe for a certain type of person though Moomin. I worry a shy introverted child (like I was) would find it hard to carry off. I really feel a pressure not to get the name 'wrong'!

Just been for a sweep so hopefully not too long left to decide!

I love Hope.

Isla is lovely but vv popular at the moment. Really like Clara too, but wonder whether it will also have a popularity surge due to Doctor Who?

Some lovely choices here - you're spoilt for choice!
Faves are Xanthe and Honor (would use either of these in a heartbeat), then Clara and Iris. Weirdly, I picture a Xanthe as being quirky but quiet and ethereal rather than loud and outgoing - something to do with the soft sound I think!

Less keen on Hope and Carys (nothing wrong with them - just not my style), Ivy always feels a bit insubstantial to me (and I'm not a huge fan of the plant) and Isla, while pretty, is becoming hugely popular.

Oh lovely names. between DD1 and DD2 I had most of them on my list at one stage or another! I like Xanthe and Carys most. I like Iris as a middle name. Not particularly keen on it as a first name though. Also like Hope and had a thread here about it at one stage and was turned off it but I still like it (I've been a fan since the tv programme Thirty Something).

I really dislike Isla and Ivy!

Really chuffed so many people like the names! Still undecided but feeling more confident I can't go too far wrong!
