Please help - is Charlie too similar to Clara?

Hi all, DD is now 11 days old & still has no name, so getting a bit desperate! - when I was pregnant she was going to be either Kitty or Polly, but neither seems right now she has arrived.

I already have an Emily, Sam, Jake & a Charlie (boy) - the new names we have come up with are Clara (DH's choice) or Lucinda (my choice) - although DH doesn't like Lucy.

My question to you all is - Do you think Charlie is too similar to Clara - not in the actual name, but the actual sound - the 'AR' bit in the middle of both names - I am worried people will mix them up with each other & end up saying something like 'Chara' or 'Clarlie'.

No, they're not too similar. Go for Clara! Lucinda is lovely too. You could nn her Lou if your dh doesn't like Lucy.

I love all the names of your dc. I think Lucy would be perfect with them, but I am biased as it was the name I did not get to use and I LOVE it. It is the perfect little sister name to me!

Charlie and Claire? Tbh I think they are still too similar, but less so than Clara.

Yes to Lara! Perfect compromise.

When you say Charlie and Clara it is a slight tongue-twitster, but they are not actually very similar names so I don't think that should put you off. Clara is a lovely name too, nicer than Lucinda I think. Go for it!
