Insomnia - please tell me how you cope

I have never had this lack of sleep to this extent. I am getting maybe 1-2hours a night max and the rest of the night I can't sleep. It is really taking a toll on me. I'm 7 and a half months pregnant.

I didn't have this with my first child other than the usual middle of the night up for the toilet etc but this is totally different.

Then all I can hear is my husbands heavy breathing while he sleeps, I eventually get up and watch tv.

He comes to bed about half 1 every night and disturbs me and reads his book. I think that might be part of the problem.

It feels very lonely to be awake like this at night and it's getting worse.

How can I go back to normal?

Hi Cesca1983, I'm not sure you meant to post this in "baby names", but you'll almost certainly get a better response in "pregnancy" if you post there so maybe ask mumsnet to move the post? Anyway, the last few weeks of pregnancy can definitely be very tough and sleeping can suffer so that is normal, but 1-2 hours does sound very disturbed. Try and get as much rest as you possibly can, and hopefully this phase will pass. Take care.

OP, sorry my lovely, insomnia is awful, but, have to be honest, 2 hour feeds are a coming, no 'back to normal' anytime soon I'm afraid xx
