We had decided on Heidi until dh decided he quite liked Indie I love it and it was one I had suggested months ago so we are now undecided again , what do you prefer if either ?

Or just choose the name you like best.

IamInvisible · 26/12/2013 21:57

I know an Indie. That's her name, not short for anything, just Indie. She's fab.

When I first heard it, I thought it was really unusual and quite cool.

Route666 · 26/12/2013 21:58

I do like Kerry Katonas kids names all of them are names I would go for , just worried that Heido is unusual enough for people to think I had pinched it from her.
BunnyLebowski dh is chickening out a bit I think.

Heido is definitely unusual Grin .

BunnyLebowski lol blaming the new tablet , dd suggested Hindie as a could mix of the two though , Quite like it ;)

I don't know why it feels wrong to me, it just does - I excluded many names for this silly reason to the annoyance of my dh! It's something about the way it sounds I think but I can't put my finger on it.

Route666 · 26/12/2013 22:08

PandaNot completely understand that there have been a few names I just couldnt use even if i like them .

Really like Indie, its something really modern sounding and not too common either

Vijac · 26/12/2013 22:29

I love Heidi-our top pick if we have a girl next. But I also love Indie, but prefer it short for Indigo or Indira.

RoseHoney · 26/12/2013 23:04

Love Indie Smile

I have a Maxwell which is also the name of Kerry Katona's son, I didn't know this when I named him but luckily not a single person has ever made the connection. Thank god.
I'm pretty sure most people try not to think about KK let alone compare someone's child to one of hers lol.

onedev · 27/12/2013 12:06

I love them both - so not v helpful, sorry!

I think Indie is good on its own, without it being a nickname.

chummymummy7 · 17/02/2014 19:40

Indie is the cutest name ever - but I may be biased as we have an Indigo (I know your DH hates it). Every time I call out Indie it makes me smile! Heidi is sweet too, by the way, but has a very different feel.

LizLemonaid · 17/02/2014 19:41

Heidi

Indie is slang for independent (record label car racing)

winterhat · 17/02/2014 20:30

Indira, Indie for short.

OrlaNuttin · 18/02/2014 08:43

Hmmm, I like Heidi and KK did not spring to mind, but goats, plaits and mountains did.

Indira is lovely, but for some reason Indie on its own as a name says 'hey dude, look what cool parents we are' to me!

BartBaby · 18/02/2014 09:05

I love Indie Grin

MarmiteChocolate · 18/02/2014 09:31

I know a lady called Indra, which is shortened to indie. At dds school there is a Melinda who is Indie too.

Leeds2 · 18/02/2014 09:58

I know an Indianna, known as Indie.

LizLemonaid · 18/02/2014 10:08

Kk wasnt trying to be original when she named her kids and that is to her credit!
Years from now max heidi lily etc can go incognito .
Goood luck to zuma and apple and blossom etc

LizLemonaid · 18/02/2014 10:11

Indira is better than india imo.
Although i take my thoughts back, india so mainstream now.
Andrea w andie for short sounds similar to indie. Does that appeal?

uc · 18/02/2014 10:17

Heidi

florascotia · 18/02/2014 10:21

Not sure if this is relevant, but Heidi was originally a nickname, too. Short for Adelheid/Adelaide. The novel (c. 1880, mountains, goats, cowbells etc) made the nickname popular.
