I like most of your names including Romilly. I also like Romy.

My favourites are: Henry, Augustus and Ralph. For girls: Arabella, Cosima and Cecily. Have you considered Henrietta or Henriette?

I find Alexander and George abit too meh. Not keen on Fox or Marina. Good list though and plenty to choose from.

Thank you for all your responses, much appreciated.

We have been discussing today love the following combinations,

Alexander Edward Fox surname-surname
Henry Ptolemy Fox surname-surname
Augustus Edward Fox surname-surname
Rafferty Charles Fox surname-surname
Ralph Alexander George surname-surname
Augustus Louis Fox surname-surname

Celeste Victoria Athena surname-surname
Marina Elizabeth Frances surname-surname
Cecily-Rose Frances Helena surname-surname
Camilla Frances Alexandrina surname-surname

We need middle names for Romilly, Penelope, Otillie, Georgiana and Araminta. Also thoughts on the boys names would be wonderful.

Thank you.

Marina Elizabeth Frances is a lovely combination IMO. Flows very well (not that you say them all together often, I know, but...) On the same lines, Augustus Edward Fox works well. Purely on first names I prefer Alexander. Augustus Louis = too much 's'

A few of those were on my list, you may wish to consider your view points on rather popular names as a few are becoming quite well used.

Cecily is a lovely name.I met a brand new one on Sunday she was cute (good job she did not take after her dad)

If you're someone who'd be happy to use the name Tarquin I think you should choose a more unusual name for a boy rather than Alexander or George which are 'safe'. I think Rafferty or Raphael are great. What about Rufus or Sebastian? Or a continental name?
Girls-wise some of the choices are becoming popular namely Arabella, Isabelle, Cecily (what about Cecile?),Ottilie. So avoid. These names started off posh and they are trickling down to the masses now.
Regina and Araminta are awful. Like Tarquin, Araminta is such a stereotype. With your surnames you sound like you can afford to be unusual.
Lavinia, Camelia, Peony, Carolina, Cordelia, Marigold, Lucinda???

Puddles1234 · 13/04/2014 16:46

NeedsAsockamnesty Which ones do you think are too popular from my list?

ChickenMe Yes I absolutely agree about some of the names becoming too popular. My Mum has already vetoed some of them as she says they are becoming to common. Hmm

For girls we love,

Araminta NN Minty
Camilla
Cosima
Marina
Persephone NN Sephy

Boys,

George
Percy
Ptolemy
Hugo
Rupert
Peregrine
Frederick
Augustus
Felix

I would love more girls suggestions as to be honest we are pretty much content with our boys list.
