What do you think? My name is Elsie, so I'm a bit worried that Eilidh is too similar to that. Is Naomi too 90s? Xanthe too try-hard? Thanks

honestly if you are in UK you will be spelling out Eilidh all the time.
Georgia is nice but a bit over-used
Naomi is OK
my favourite would be Xanthe

Witchesbrewandbiscuits · 22/12/2013 18:02

def georgia

meala · 22/12/2013 18:12

I love Eilidh. There wouldn't really be spelling problems if you're in scotland. Not too close to Elsie either. I think Xanthe may cause spelling problems too.

scrazy · 22/12/2013 18:13

The name Naomi is a very old name so I don't think it's 90's.

Piddlepuddle · 22/12/2013 18:15

Eilidh and Xanthe are both gorgeous!

manicinsomniac · 22/12/2013 19:09

I love Xanthe
Naomi and Eilidh are also lovely.
Georgia is quite nice but not as nice as the others imo.

Skogkat · 22/12/2013 19:28

Eilidh is pretty but I do think that it is a bit too similar to Elsie.
Xanthe is my favourite- beautiful, unusual, different.

Frontdoorstep · 22/12/2013 19:31

I like Eilidh and being Scottish I know how to spell and pronounce it, but I think this might be a problem if you aren't Scottish.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/12/2013 19:33

Naomi by a million miles. Tis biblical so hardly too 90s.

HyvaPaiva · 22/12/2013 19:34

Xanthe is gorgeous, I love it.

Georgia by far the nicest

southerngirl25599 · 23/12/2013 08:01

I like Georgia best, Naomi is quite good too.

PandyBurtVonnugget · 23/12/2013 09:09

Xanthe by a mile!

Theonlyoneiknow · 23/12/2013 10:41

DDs middle name is Eilidh. If peeps arent familiar with the name you will spell it and job done. Same as any other name really. Its à beautiful name. I like Naomi too from your list

hawkmcqueen · 24/12/2013 22:19

I love Georgia, Naomi and Xanthe! Eilidh isn't to my taste, I know one 7 yo and I found it hard to get my head around before seeing it written down.

Kantha · 24/12/2013 22:21

Naomi

BabyMummy29 · 24/12/2013 22:28

Eilidh is ok if you live in Scotland otherwise she will spend her lifetime explaining how to pronounce it.

Likewise with Xanthe - I haven't a clue how that's meant to be pronounced.

I'd be boring and stick with Naomi or Georgia

MissingMyMarbles · 24/12/2013 22:57

I love Xanthe but couldn't persuade DH. Like Ianthe (pr. I-an-thay) even better, but again vetoed Xmas Sad do love DD2's name though
