Saffron or Thora?

I've made threads about both these names recently and both got quite a positive response though not a huge response. I think if there were lots of people who hate them they would have been more vocal (see recent Kyle thread!!). However I thought I might get more of an idea of peoples opinions if I compared the two!

So which do you like best and why?

I love saffron - it was my dear cat's name. Smile

Thora sounds like thorax to me.

Um, this is not what you're asking but -

Saffron- old before her time Saffy from Ab Fab. I'm 25 and lots of your daughters peers mums would be aware of this reference.
Thora - hird. Who was, as far as I know, an actress who died having carved a niche as being a sweet elderly lady?

Of the two I'd choose Thora.

Thora would be yuck in my opinion
Date to be different from all the old ladies. The fashion will pass (she says, in hope!).

Saffron is really pretty.

To me Thora is another of those ugly "old lady" names that have been having a revival recently.

Saffron - Ronnie for short.
