Tom

He was going to be Rory or Henry but at the 20 week scan having recovered from the shock that he wasn't actually another girl I looked at him in the screen and thought "that is my boy and his name is Tom" Smile

tshirtsuntan · 11/12/2013 01:11

Ted.
Was possibly a William Or a Robert.

Mutteroo · 11/12/2013 01:47

Oliver, known as Ollie
Short listed: Thoedore (Theo), Christopher (Kit), Thomas (Tom), Joshua (Josh) & Jacob (Jake). Think I may have an obsession with names that can be shortened.

Is Rory having a huge popularity spurt then? I can't believe how many of you have mentioned it. I have a Rory, he's 21. We have come across a smattering of them over the years, but it has never been an especially popular name. However, this thread implies that it soon will be! I still love it - it transcends all ages/classes/types for me. Classic without being boring.

JanePlanet · 11/12/2013 05:06

Yes, his name has been totally ripped to shreds on here.

We didn't really consider anything else, it was the only name we both liked.

CockyMcChicken · 11/12/2013 09:58

Tangfasticlady · 11/12/2013 10:02

I wanted Izaak or Robert (both vetoed by OH)

OH wanted Seweryn (pronounced Sev-Erin) - I laughed in his face

MrsT2007 · 11/12/2013 20:24

I have never met a little Rory yet but I bet it gets more popular. It's such a lovely, classic name but oft bypassed for others.

Beachballfamily · 12/12/2013 15:20

Rory - he's 5 now and we've never met another young Rory. Getting worried now that there will be lots more soon!

Also considered

Alasdair
Samuel

Theonlyoneiknow · 12/12/2013 15:28

I love the name Rory - there are quite a few here though. All depends on where you live!
