Indecisive for our baby girl!

My husband and I, both being natural decision-shysters, are really struggling to decide on a name for our baby. She's due in 4 weeks and we've yet to choose a first name, and need to start considering a second name as well.

Our shortlist is below, but other suggestions welcome:

Camille
Rose
Lilian
Isabelle
Matilda

Thanks! x

I also like Rose as a middle name, and would consider Jane in honour of the friend who introduced us.

Camille. Absolutely love it. Beautiful.

Isabelle in all its forms is very popular, and Matilda seems to be going that way. I love Rose, but it's become the 'catch all' middle name, like Grace.

There are a million Lilys, so would avoid Lilian on those grounds.

LOVE Camille and Lilian! (prefer Lillian as in Lillian Gish).

Rose is pretty and not overused as a first name.

Isabelle and all it's variant forms are done to death for me.

Actively dislike Matilda. Overbearingly cutesy. And also hugely popular right now which is a turn off for me!

Congrats on your nearly here DD BTW Grin Thanks

My favourite from your list is Matilda, I love it and goes well with either Rose or Jane.

I like Lilian and also have you considered the Scottish version, Lilias?

I like Isabel too but prefer it spelt like this. Also like Matilda.

Thanks for all the advice!

I think Camille is probably the favourite at the moment, Lilian and Isabelle are both family names, Matilda is (thankfully but surprisingly) less popular here in Australia at the moment than in the UK

That is surprising about Matilda not being so popular in Oz!

manicinsomniac · 09/12/2013 23:58

love Matilda (it isn't popular in the US either, must just be a UK thing)

Matilda Rose, Matilda Jane, Isabelle Rose, Isabelle Jane would be my order or preference, I'm not keen on the others.

I love Camille too Smile. I have 3 daughters & it always floated around our possible names for each of them.
