What do people think of this?

And what middle name would up put with it (something short and classic)?

We we're thinking:

Miriam Ann
Miriam Grace
Miriam Emily
Miriam Rachel
Miriam Sarah

Thanks!

Love it. Such a dignified name.

I really love Miriam.

Miriam Louise - or is that too 1970s?

Bakingtins · 09/12/2013 22:59

It's one of my favourites. I'd go with Miriam Grace.

I'd love to know from anyone who is named Miriam, or who knows one, of you've had any negative feedback about the meaning? It has the meaning "bitter" amongst others, though when you look into how this came about it was more about the bitter oppression that the Hebrew people were under and Miriam was born into. Miriam was a leader of women, instrumental in saving Moses and is celebrated each year at Passover. It can also mean " wished or longed for child"
If my current pregnancy makes it, and is a girl, after 4 MC, "bitterly wished for" will be spot on!

I know a Miriam - she has commented on how people think she is Jewish (her family all have Biblical names) but never mentioned the meaning. I will ask her!

I know an extremely awesome Miriam Rachel who has an array of awesome nicknames, and no, no worries about the bitter meaning. Do wind her up about God giving her leprosy for being vain though!

I went to school with a Miriam. She was from an Italian family.
She is now a successful business woman, and is absolutely gorgeous with classic Italian looks.
It is such a strong lovely name I think.

What about Miriam Kate? It's not miles away from 'classic' but has a slight modern edge which makes it ring as less biblical? Unless you were going for biblical? X

Ooh - Miriam Kate is lovely!
