I love Thea!!! Beautiful Smile

There are too many Ava's....

Spanishomelette · 14/12/2013 08:51

Sootikin, we would be using the Thee-ya pronunciation.

I think we have ruled out Ava now on the basis of popularity - just this week I have met 2 little Ava's!

Other names we like are Juliet and Genevieve.

Thanks everyone!

Oh, I love Juliet!

Bue · 14/12/2013 15:53

Thea. I like Juliet too.

TwinkleSparkleBling · 21/12/2013 22:43

I love Anya and wanted to call DD2 this.

DH said he couldn't call her the same name as a potato Hmm

tiamariaxxx · 21/12/2013 22:46

Ava is really pretty ive always liked it but know a few so could never use it. I like Anya aswell

Spanishomelette · 22/12/2013 07:43

Thanks everyone who has commented! It looks like it is a close call between Anya and Thea.

I'm 32 weeks now and have finally got DH to start thinking about names; he has said he also likes Esme (pn esmay) and Natasha. Any thoughts on these additional suggestions and how they compare to Thea and Anya would be fantastic!

Thanks again x

Just be aware that Thea has become incredibly popular lately- apparently there is a character in Arrow called it (based on an old superhero comic). One of my friends has a 6 month old Thea(dora) and she now wishes she had chosen something different as when she meets new people she is frequently asked if it is after the show, and has met lots of other little girls with the same name and wishes she had something less popular.

Thea

hellowonderful · 22/12/2013 08:06

Thea.

stillsleeptraining · 27/03/2021 03:47

Hi @Spanishomelette - what did you go for in the end?!

We’re currently choosing between Thea and Ava too!

SquigglePigs · 27/03/2021 08:09

Anya's probably my favourite but Thea is a very very close second!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/03/2021 11:13

Thea

KirstenBlest · 27/03/2021 11:39

Anya.

I don't like Ava at all.
Thea is just meh.

Jeschara · 27/03/2021 16:58

Anya and Natasha are lovely. I personally do not like Esme.

Samistar · 27/03/2021 17:27

Really like Anya and Juliet from your list. Beautiful & fairly unsual. Anya & Natasha also work well together.
Thea is quite nice too, I know a little Thea. Not so keen on Esme - lots in the area I live.
Good luck!

Chilldonaldchill · 27/03/2021 18:27

Thea then Anya then Ava.

Noodlesnoodlesnoodles · 27/03/2021 19:02

All lovely. I like Ava the best, but the popularity does put me off, so I think I'd go for Thea. Perhaps Theodora? Then you have Dora as a potential nn, which I also think is cute.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 27/03/2021 19:46

I like all your choices! (helpful) But my favourite is Juliet - elegant, classic sounding but underused. 2nd choice would be simple, pretty and international Anya, and 3rd lovely Genevieve (as it has lots of nn choice). Natasha is a bit less my taste (I prefer similar Natalia), Ava slightly trendy/popular and Esme and Thea can have pronunciation issues, would could be annoying for her.

@SquigglePigs @Awwlookatmybabyspider @KirstenBlest @Jeschara @Samistar @Chilldonaldchill @Noodlesnoodlesnoodles @IamnotwhouthinkIam

This thread is from 2013, 'baby' will be about 8.

What did you decide @Spanishomelette

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/03/2021 21:04

It was stillsleeptraining who woke the zombie

SquigglePigs · 28/03/2021 09:15

Oops! I generally don't check the dates when it's in active threads!

stillsleeptraining · 28/03/2021 09:31

Helpful to me though - Baby NoName is nearly 7 weeks and we’re still deciding! We loved Thea, but I’m finding it hard to say
