Could you go for something like Amelia, and then he could use Amy as a nn and you could use the full name if you prefer?

MortifiedAnyFuckerAdams · 06/12/2013 20:02

What about Aimee?

Rose
Sophie
Megan
Erin
Lara

And a holly with a sister called Maci.

MortifiedAnyFuckerAdams · 07/12/2013 09:22

Lucy or Alice

Iwaswatchingthat · 07/12/2013 09:32

The girls called Ella I know have sisters called:

Ella and Lucy

Ella and Evie

Ella and Gracie

Iwaswatchingthat · 07/12/2013 09:33

Oh and Ella and Abbie

MrsRV · 07/12/2013 17:42

I do love abigail or abbie but we just know too many... my cousin, best friends niece...! grace is gone too. Lucy's nice but our surname ends sie so sounds a bit odd! that's why Ella isn't Elsie. hubs & I both have friends with Evie's. This is just TOO difficult. Holly is growing on me more & more & amy less & less.

Holly is lovely. It was on our very short list for dd1 now 8 and it is still a name I would be happy to call her, whereas some of my other choices I would not dream of using now.

MortifiedAnyFuckerAdams · 07/12/2013 20:00

The Ella I know has a sibling Aoife but that may be a bit too out there.

Ella & Charlotte
Ella & Kate
Ella & Darcy
Ella & Hope

MrsRV · 07/12/2013 20:10

Kate's nice but I'd go wuth Caitlyn I think with Kate for short.

no way hubs will go for Darcy... no no no no no.

I did get hubby to agree Brooke, but now I've gone off it.

MerryMarigold · 07/12/2013 21:29

BlackberryandNettle · 07/12/2013 21:50

Lucy
Rosie

MrsRV · 11/12/2013 20:16

this is good... no one has made the Rubella connection so far??? Ruby & Ella... perhaps people wouldn't make the connection as Ella came first & we would always say Ella & Ruby...

justhayley · 14/12/2013 21:11

Ruby is lovely & works well with Ella

LC2014 · 21/12/2013 21:23

I also like Holly May or Holly Maya MrsRV.

My husband also vetoes most names I suggest so I know the feeling. I like his favourite but sometimes not sure I love it..he quite likes my favourite so we might try them together but not sure which way round! Might wait until she's born and see 'what she looks like' and hopefully have more persuasive power after he's seen me go through the labour!

tiamariaxxx · 21/12/2013 21:27

Amy and Holly are both nice names could you not compromise a bit maybe use one as a middle name or something
