Hi everyone
Please could you give me some suggestion for our baby boy. Dh and I don't seem to agree on many ideas and the ones we do we feel are ok, I want to love our babies name not just think it's ok if that makes sense.

Our last name begins with an H so first names starting with an H are out for me. ( I love Harvey but think it sounds dreadful with surname )
I also really like Samuel but have a good reason not to use it that's putting me off.

So our short list so far is :
Charlie
William
Jake
Alexander

We need more ideas please, dh likes safe names which I see as a little boring lol, open to ideas please?
Thank you x

Our surname starts with an H and we have a Tom and Ben. I don't see them as boring at all, they are not cars/pets/buildings they are people and there is nothing wrong with a great normal name. Can't be shortened, confused, miss spelt etc etc. I love yelling "Ben, Tom dinners ready!"

I don't get this pressure/expectation to come up with weird, unusual names, they are babies not ships!

There are lots of Charlie's around in primary school so I'd avoid that one.

Our eldest Ben had no name for 4 weeks when he was born, he was 5 weeks early and we could just not decide in all the hoo ha of to all, but it did not matter one jot, he was just called Baby H until then!

Oh it's so difficult :-( lol
My ex was called Joseph so can't use that one!

Can anyone think of any other names along the lines of Samuel or Daniel as I really like both of these but can't use either :-(

Nicholas?

I have a similar dilemma with my OH. He likes traditional - I don't so much.

I'll also be watching to see what other suggestions you get that I can steal Grin

William (as suggested by others) is quite similar to Samuel and Daniel in my mind. Marcus is quite nice.

Christmas baby- cant have Joseph. How about David as in "once in royal...." Or Christopher?
