Elisabeth Alice is my favourite and I really, really love the 's' spelling of Elisabeth.

KatherinaMinola · 26/11/2013 16:49

Both beautiful names. (Not that helpful, I know). See which one she looks like?

MrsOakenshield · 26/11/2013 16:53

I have the 's' spelling of Elisabeth as my middle name. I have spent my life correcting the spelling of it, and having to send documents back to be corrected, to the extent I wish my parents had stuck to the Z spelling.

I do like Sofia Elisabeth, but your child may end up hating the fact that you've given her not one, but two, names that are spelt 'unusually'!

sisterofmercy · 26/11/2013 17:00

Oh that would be so hard to choose. They're both gorgeous. Maybe when she is born she will tell you whether she is an Elisabeth or a Sofia....

MiracleOntheM4 · 26/11/2013 18:31

Thank you all.

Absolutely my concern MrsOakenfield, but DH is set on these spellings (he's Scandinavian, hence the spelling of Sofia).

I had to look twice then, as I have an Alice Elizabeth...

MissingMyMarbles · 26/11/2013 18:50

Both beautiful but Elisabeth Alice rolls better, I think.

wigglesrock · 26/11/2013 19:34

They're both lovely as much use as a chocolate fireguard, but I have a Sofia so that gets my vote Smile

Elisabeth Alice although I do prefer it with the Z.

TodaysAGoodDay · 26/11/2013 20:35

I know it's not an option, but Alice Elisabeth is wonderful IMO. Lovely names though Smile

MiracleOntheM4 · 26/11/2013 20:38

I like that too Today, but my eldest is Alexandra and I'm wary of two 'A' names due to too much time on MN and ideally want to give DD2 and equally flexible name which I suppose would lend itself to Elisabeth but not Sofia on reflection!

Wow - I think we may have a name Smile

Sofia Elisabeth would be my pick - lovely. Fwiw, I think Elisabeth is much better as a middle name as I think it is a little staid as a first name. Goodluck with your last couple of weeks Smile!

Mrsindecision · 26/11/2013 20:50

Sorry, x-post! I see you've made your choice - I took too long to post my message. Both are lovely options and go well with Alexandra so you can't go wrong either way! Smile

starrystarryknut · 26/11/2013 20:54

As a person with one of those unusually spelt names (not saying which), although I love it, it has plagued my life with the constant mis-spelling etc. I'd go for the standard version to give your DD a trouble free life.

MiracleOntheM4 · 26/11/2013 21:05

Thanks everyone!

And Mrsindecision, I should have your username as I bet I will change my mind by morning!

For me Alice Elisabeth is just lovely.

And I wouldn't get too hung up about the two 'A" names.

It's only jarring if you're going for a theme. If it's just a coincidence of the names that you love, I wouldn't let it hold me back.

But I live in a family where 'A' names dominate.

Whatever you choose, your base selection is lovely.

You can't go wrong.
