Fell in love with a name, two weeks to go DP changed his mind.

So it took us an AGE to think of boys names that we both liked.

DP suggested a middle name which I totally fell in love with as a first name, took it to MN and was surprised to get good feedback which cemented it further in my mind.

DPs family asked about names and DP told them this one, again they liked it.

Now DP has decided he can't get hos head around it as a first name. We have no real alternative contenders and he doesn't have any other suggestions apart from one which I really don't like. I'm happy to be flexible and look at alternatives but we only have 2 weeks to go, I'm full of cold and don't even know where to start. I'm also sad at losing the name I loved.

How did anyone else cope with name pressure at the last hurdle! How can we agree!

We had the same with 2 days to go. Ds has the original name!!

Why don't you agree to go with the original name unless you can both agree on an alternative?

I liked DHS "new" name choice but couldn't think of the baby with that name as in my head he'd been the original name since we first agreed on it.

Try not to think about it for the next 72 hours, just let the dust settle.

Then flick through this section of MN and keep an eye on tv credits and listen out for names on the radio. Something other than that name you say you loathe will come to your attention!

If DP is going to be with you when you're in labour it takes a heart of stone not to fall in with mum's wishes after witnessing the arrival of pfb. Just saying.

Aaaahhhhg, yay, DP brings up names today and is back onto our original choice! I didn't nag or guilt trip at all so am very happy.

He's even mentioned the middle name I liked that he originally announced 'too pretentious'. I'm scared he has been taken over by a pod person...but hell, I'll take it!
