Need to convince DH of shortlist

I would like opinions please on my own shortlist of names before I show to DH. He is a gret one for saying 'no' without coming up with any alternatives, although I will include the two names he has suggested in the lists.

Isadora
Antigone
Aurelia
Clover
Cordelia

Jonah
Emmett
Gabriel
Phineas

All suggestions appreciated.

Love Clover, it's so sweet.

Aurelia only from the girls' list for me. And Gabriel from the boys' names.

I like Isadora and Jonah.

Isadora or Cordelia. Clover and Aurelia are too little girly, and I don't like the associations with Antigone.

Love the sound of Jonah, but don't like the associations- the same with Emmett. Like Gabriel, but don't like Gabe. Phineas sounds a bit......don't know...pretentious?

I am intrigued curlew, what are the negative connotations with Emmett? Thanks!

It's a a West Country thing- it's dialect for an ant, and used to describe hordes of summer holiday makers!

I like Cordelia from your girls list, but not the others I'm afraid. Clover sounds like something I would name a cow.

Really like all your boys list, like phinneus marginally less than the others, but they.re all lovely.

Love Clover and quite like Aurelia and Isadora. Gabriel is beautiful (my favourite boy's name).

I'd have to pick Cordelia and Gabriel but mostly because they are the best of a fairly dodgy bunch.

I love Emmett, though there is the Cornwall issue of course...tourists are known as Emmetts, other than that Gabriel and Cordelia. I like Phineas but I wouldn't use it because it's a character in a kid's cartoon.
Jonah would have a whale of a time though.....which is why I wouldn't use that one.

Clover's a cow, Jonah sinks ships, Antigone's Oedipus' daughter (but also a formidable character). Like Aurelia and Gabriel.

Love Clover - your others are a bit try-hard imho, sorry. Isadora is okay.
Like Gabriel - really, really dislike Phineas, and the other 2 aren't working for me either, sorry.
