Elisabet- Scandinavian and Finnish form of ELIZABETH ( no, neither of us are Nordic).

I realise the issue is that some people will mistake it for Elisabeth and add a h. However is this a strong enough reason for not using it?

Oops I forgot to ask your thoughts on Annabella and Madelaine nn Lainey.

I really like Elisabet.

Annabella is a bit fussy for my liking, and Madaleine looks like a spelling mistake Blush

Yes I like Elisabet too, but not Madelaine as it just looks wrong. Not sire about Lainey although I don't like Maddy much either.

Annabella is what I got called when my family were taking the piss so I'm too prejudiced to comment Grin

Elisabet looks like you've missed the 'h' off Elisabeth (I actually thought your thread title contained a typo). If you are not Nordic I wouldn't use it. Madelaine is ok but is much more commonly spelt Madeleine. Which leaves Annabella, and that I love.

I like Elisabet. Annabella is too frilly - better to stick with Annabel. And I agree with the others re the spelling of Madelaine. How about Marjolaine if you want to use Lainey? I think that's beautiful.

I like Annabella best.

I actually like Elisabet, but then I hail from that way, so may be biased! Madelaine definitely looks misspelled - would have to be Madeleine or Madeline to me. Annabella is very frilly, also prefer Annabel (or Arabella).
