I did a search on Mumsnet for threads containing this name and the only bad things people mentioned were the Cornish comedian and that it's a bit redneck/hillbilly.

I think most people of my parents generation (I'm 29) would make the comedian association but I don't think people my age and certainly my childrens age would think of him straight away. I also think people would have said Seth was too redneck/hillbilly/farmer a few years ago and now it's quite popular so obviously I'm just cooler than you! Wink

So any other thoughts about Jethro? Will it become trendy do to it's 'O' ending? Like Milo, Otto, Arlo etc?

Another one who thinks of Gibbs from ncis. Who is totally great btw. I like it Smile

I don't love it but I don't think it's crazy or too different to worry. I don't know any but it's not unheard of so I wouldn't think twice. If anything I'd just think "thank goodness, not another Oliver, Freddie, Harry etc"
I don't make the band or comedian connections, so to me it's just a "cool" sounding name.

Use it!!

The comedian was more famous in 80's. He is or was very rude so was not on TV. He was talked about in the same way as Roy Chubby Brown.

I take that back.... Have now googled. Was thinking of someone else. He is Des o'connors favourite comedian....high praise!!!

I like it. First association to me these days is Gibbs; before NCIS it would have been Tull. Neither of which would put me off.
