I'm only 17 weeks so have ages to go but finally got DH to discuss names at the weekend. What do you think of the below?

Sadie
Polly
Robyn
Libby
Not sure about a middle name but I seem to gave a thing about Primrose!

Johnny
Lawrence (Laurie)
Henry
Caspar
Middle name again not really discussed yet but poss Alexander

Surname is one syllable starting with M

Thanks

I like Sadie, not really keen on any of the boys names but Henry is OK. Please don't call her Polly Primrose!

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 05/11/2013 09:42

I like Robyn! In fact, I like Primrose Robyn.
Lawrence Alexander is nice.

Caip · 05/11/2013 09:46

Ha! I hadn't tried Primrose with Polly in my head, no I wouldn't do that. I think Sadie Primrose works though

Sorry not keen on your girls names. To me, they are a bit wishy washy. Polly Primrose, sounds like an extra in bally shoes! Sadie is terrible.

However boys are fab.

Johnny Alexander would be marvellous.

Caspar is lovely, underused name IMHO. Henry is a solid name but not as fab as the others.

Beachballfamily · 05/11/2013 11:35

Like Robyn and Libby (but would Libby by short for something? I think it's good to give them a name with options, for when they're older). Like all the boys names, but Henry is v popular. Lawrence is my fav.

halecromp · 05/11/2013 12:05

Love Sadie, Robyn, Lawrence an Henry

louloutheshamed · 05/11/2013 12:10

I have a Johnny Alexander and a Henry so obviously I love those Grin.

For girls I like Sadie and Libby. Love Primrose as a mn for either of them!

Rhubarbgarden · 05/11/2013 13:42

I love Primrose

mummybare · 05/11/2013 13:46

I actually like them all, although I would go for Elizabeth and Jonathan with Libby and Johnny as nns, personally.

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

elcranko · 05/11/2013 13:55

I love Sadie and Polly but, as has already been mentioned, Polly Primrose isn't great! How about Molly Primrose?

Henry is my favourite out of your boy's names, Henry Alexander is a great name!

Caip · 05/11/2013 15:20

Loulou - is your Johnny a Jonathan? I'd want to just go with Johnny. I also wouldn't want Libby to be Elizabeth (Libby is DH's suggestion, not my favourite anyway)
I agree Polly Primrose is awful! No idea what middle name we'd go for with Polly. I don't like Molly at all

I don't like any names that end in y or ie just seem silly and too cutie for me. I am speaking as someone with a nice name who people love to shorten then lengthen again with an ie.

louloutheshamed · 05/11/2013 15:39

No he is just a John actually. Not many of them around strange as it seems!

sonlypuppyfat · 05/11/2013 15:57

John is the greatest name in the world

pinkr · 05/11/2013 16:39

I love liberty for a girl...dh said no!

NewtRipley · 05/11/2013 20:09

Like Robyn and Libby

Really dislike Sadie - sorry. It just sounds "hard" to my ears
Polly is a bit twee for my taste

What about Frankie/Francesca - seems to fit your taste
or
Cassie/ Cassandra

I like Lawrence, but would spell it Laurence

NewtRipley · 05/11/2013 20:10

John is really nice. Don't like Jonathan for some reason I can't fathom

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 05/11/2013 20:11

Don't like the girls' names, sorry - but like Libby as nn for Elizabeth.

Love Laurence/Laurie.
