Naomi.

Do you like? Appreciate honesty!

What do you think when you hear it?

If you heard of a newborn called this what would you think?

Naomi is a lovely name. And while everyone is familiar with the name, you don't get many little Naomis, so it's that perfect mix of not everywhere but not unknown.

BikeRunSki · 01/11/2013 11:37

Yes I do! Like Hasseld said, everyone knows it, but I have only ever met a couple. 30s and 2.

CeliaLytton · 01/11/2013 11:40

I like it, but I know a few who pronounce it different ways and get fed up with correcting people.

Would it be NAY-o-me or nay-O-me?

comeandgo · 01/11/2013 11:46

NAY - o - me I think

honeybeeridiculous · 01/11/2013 13:50

Frikadellen · 01/11/2013 14:15

Its an "Oh ok" name for me. I don't love it I don't hate it.

Bumpsadaisie · 01/11/2013 15:16

If you really want an honest opinion ...

I think its a perfectly sensible name, and not too common.

But I think it sounds a bit, well, wet.

Sorry!

HootShoot · 01/11/2013 15:22

I love it, we have a friend Naomi and she is known as Nomes.

CordeliaRose · 01/11/2013 15:32

It's a fabulous name. I only know of one, and met her quite recently.

Lovely. Also have a friend with the nickname nomes or sometimes noomi :)

cece · 01/11/2013 15:45

It is nice but you may get a few people using a different pronouciation to you. However, this shouldn't be a problem once corrected. Depends if that would bother you or not.

WhatABeautifulPussy · 01/11/2013 15:49

I like it :) have a friend Naomi known as Gnome.

NoComet · 01/11/2013 16:26

DDs Y6 buddy when she started school, who is lovely and still say's hi. Even though DD is 15 and she's all grown up.

SanityClause · 01/11/2013 16:30

Very pretty name.

FWIW, I have a name that can be pronounced a couple of ways, and that doesn't worry me in the slightest. I don't even bother to correct people most of the time.

The eccentric spelling is a different matter!

comeandgo · 01/11/2013 20:53

I know there may be problems with pronoucation but I don't think its that big an issue.

Good to hear someone with a similar issue with their name feels the same.

Yes its a name I would like to hear on a baby and would think that's a nice and unusual choice that you don't hear much. It is pretty and a good honest name and I have known some lovely Naomi's.

GideonKipper · 02/11/2013 00:38

Makes me think of Campbell. I would be quite surprised hearing a new born had been called this.
