Opinions on our short list?

Would appreciate thoughts / opinions on our short list as struggling to decide on a name. We both like:

Isabelle - probably the favourite
Erin
Saskia

Probably with Grace as a middle name.

I do like them all but just not sure if I really love any of them. My favourite name was Thea but DH has sadly vetoed it

Any other suggestions based on our short list?

I like them all, but Isobel, not Isabelle. Saskia is the most unusual I think, if that's what your'e after.

Grace is a very overworked middle name IMO. What about Saskia Erin/Erin Saskia?

Isabelle Grace is lovely, popular but beautiful.

Not keen on Erin.

I like Isabelle but much prefer Isabel.

I like Erin, though its quite over used as is variations on Isabelle & Grace is now very common - Saskia is far less common, but the adult one I know is known as Sassie - if you are okay with that as an inevitable NN & want something more memorable, then I would go with that one :)

Isabelle is a beautiful name (personally I prefer the sp Isobel) it is extremely popular though, especially when you take into account the various spellings plus the inevitable Issy/Izzy/Issie nn.

Grace is also very, very popular as a first and mn.

However Isabelle might be on the wane, see www.darkgreener.com so she might not share her name with another in her class, though there will likely be at least one other in her secondary school year.

So it depends on what you're after, if you don't mind knowing lots of other girls with the same name then go for it, it's very pretty.

Erin is nice but popular too, I know 2 under 5s with this name and it's not as lovely as Isabelle.

Saskia is the sort of name I would expect a character in TOWIE to be called, not necessarily a bad thing, again depends on your views.

Saskia would be my pick by a country mile (although I also love the discounted Thea). It's a good strong name. Everyone's heard of it but there aren't lots of them around. Love Sass for short.

Isabelle - there are a trillion Isabelles registered every day (this may be a slight exaggeration)
Erin - cheesy Irish American, also the name of a brand of powdered soups.

I think they are all lovely names, Saskia being my favourite of your list.

I would keep those and see which one fits once you meet baby

I suppose part of me secretly hopes that I can persuade DH to change his mind re Thea - but I don't think the chances are good. It was on my short list for DD1 but we quickly agreed on a different name which we both loved straight away but I always had Thea 'stored' away for any DD2. Hmmm. Probably wouldn't be anyway fair to try and pressure him into a name he really doesn't like but I can't help feeling a bit sad as that is my run-away favourite Oh well.

Don't think the popularity of Isabelle would be a huge issue here (Scotland) as it doesn't seem to be quite as popular as down south. But still, definitely something to take into consideration.

Clargo yes, we could take that approach but, just knowing the way I am, I worry that I would choose something in a new-born haze that I would later regret. With both of the other two we have had a name in advance and it just somehow - for me personally at any rate - helped in terms of preparation etc. The bumps just somehow became those names so when the babies appeared they were automatically their names if that makes any sense?
