That's it really - we love the name Rosie but are unsure whether that should go on her birth certificate or whether we should go for a more formal option, maybe Rose or Rosanna?

Rosalie?

Really not keen on Rosamund, Rosemary or Rosalind - feel too 'old lady' to me and not in a good way.

I like Rosanna.

Although I know a Rosanna who was called Rosie until university and then was called Zanna for evermore.

TheNunsOfGavarone · 18/10/2013 09:56

Rosie is lovely but I'd definitely put something more formal on the birth certificate.

A couple more suggestions:

Rosina
Rosalba

MyMotherHadMeTested · 18/10/2013 09:56

Rose is a lovely name, I'd go with that.

I know three Rosies; two of them are Rose on their birth certificates and one is Rosanna. I like Rosalie, though, and if I'd been having a Rosie I'd have used Rosalind (family name plus I like the Shakespeare connection).

Nectarines · 18/10/2013 11:39

I have a Six day old Rosie. It really suits her, it's the name we like and I didn't think it was necessary to think of a formal version just for her birth certificate etc.

Meringue33 · 18/10/2013 12:55
