Looking for some opinions on our shortlist for DD, due early January. So far we have:

Julia
Eva
Niamh
Lila (pronounced Lie-lah)

Which is your favourite of these and do you have any other suggestions we might like. I feel like read so many lists of names and not sure of any ! Also, we're in Northern Ireland so name popularity is a bit different here, Eva is less popular here than the UK in general.

I really like Eva.

Delilah
Alice
Mia
Silke

I like Niamh and Lila best.

cavell · 16/10/2013 20:40

I think Julia is the nicest. Pretty and classic.

Eva is a name of the moment. It's okay.

Hate the name Niamh -sorry, but you did ask.

Not too sure about Lila. She will no doubt always be correcting pronunciation.

AllDirections · 16/10/2013 22:39

Julia

wetaugust · 16/10/2013 23:22

Really don't like Lila. It reminds me of sanitary products - sorry.

Julia is pretty classic and probably due a revival. Juliette?

Eva's OK but very popular.

elcranko · 17/10/2013 08:03

Niamh is my favourite from your list. I think it's lovely.

Julia and Eva are nice too.

Not as keen on Lila but it's ok.

YoMamma · 17/10/2013 08:26

My fave from your list is Julia. It's classic and underused imo.

CruCru · 17/10/2013 08:26

I like Julia. Eva is nice but people may do that thing where they shorten it to Evie.

Niamh and Lila are not obvious how to pronounce.

Leeds2 · 17/10/2013 10:09

I prefer Eva.

BurbGirl2013 · 17/10/2013 14:57

Julia just really plain to me, juts a bit meh

Adore Eva- feminine while punchy thanks to shortness and ending with 'a' & a bit wistful... Lila sweet too.

17leftfeet · 17/10/2013 15:02

How else would people pronounce lila?

I like it Smile

Bowlersarm · 17/10/2013 15:04

I like Lila.

Julia could grow on me - I would imagine that would be due a comeback at some stage soon.

ReturnPlacenta · 17/10/2013 15:08

Julia and Lila for me.

BikeRunSki · 17/10/2013 15:10

Julia, then Eva

HavantGuard · 17/10/2013 16:12

Julia. When you look at combined spellings Ava is very widely used. Here

HavantGuard · 17/10/2013 16:13

Oops, Eva. Still, it's also on that list as is Evie.

Bunbaker · 17/10/2013 16:20

I think Lila will get called Lilo, but I like the others

NadiaWadia · 17/10/2013 17:29

Lila and Eva are both lovely.

Julia sounds nice, but somehow I always associate it with very cold and snooty women. Must be someone I met once!

Not really familiar with Niamh, so can't really say. How do you pronounce it? Excuse my ignorance!

Coupon · 17/10/2013 17:52

Eva
