So dd1 due any day and we need to narrow down our list a bit as it has got out of hand as used to having boys! Any other ideas along the lines of these would be much appreciated too. We struggle to agree as anything I like dh thinks is snooty and I usually think what he likes is a bit boring. Here goes:
Sophie
Freya
Merryn
Erin
Lucy
Francesca
Matilda
Iona

Tia!

Big fan of Sophie despite the detractors... how uncommon is your surname to balance it out and give her a chance of being googleable?

Also love Freya
LOVE Lucy but it's our cat. And doesn't go with surname.
Agree with some others that Erin seems oddly American-fake-irish?

Sophie - meh. Nice enough, but overdone.
Freya - ditto
Merryn - beautiful. Pretty but strong. My top pick.
Erin - OK
Lucy - see Sophie (although not quite to the same extent imo). Could use Lucia with Lucy as nn?
Francesca - lovely - very sophisticated. Don't like Frankie though.
Matilda - pretty, but it's getting popular and I'm not a fan of Tilly.
Iona - OK

Hi, thanks all. It has helped narrow it down a bit and glad to see my choices are most popular! Our surname is quite standard but not overly common so we are quote lucky in that respect. Thinking we should add tia to the shortlist now as it made me laugh, oops, should really preview my post.

Erin
Lucy
Sophie
Francesca

I like all of those, in that order. Not keen on the others and not sure bow to pronounce Iona.
