Bobbie (for a girl) and I love it! Should have asked her before really - no idea where she got it from as I don't think she knows anyone called Bobbie?

The name Robyn was on our list but I went off it - I think perhaps Robyn as official name, but known as Bobbie. What do you think?

Bobbie is a nickname so while cute I would give her the real version and use the nn. I knew a Bobbie whose name was Roberta.

Bumbolina · 15/10/2013 08:11

Laguna - I don't like Roberta. As I said in OP I'd probably go for Robyn - nickname Bobbie Smile

Robyn's a great name, bob or bobbie are brill nicknames too!

DameFellatioNelson · 15/10/2013 08:13

I don't like Roberta at all but I love love love Robyn, and Bobbie as a nn would be really cute. Go for it.

nooka · 15/10/2013 08:31

I much prefer Robin, for both girls and boys I just think the 'y' looks really odd in Robyn.

Bobbie is sweet - very Railway Children :)

curlew · 15/10/2013 08:33

Roberta, or Robin. Nickname Bobbie.

You've done well. My 2 yo has offered Peppa, Cinderella, Belle or Beast for her sister...!

Thurlow · 15/10/2013 14:27

Robyn is an amazing name (prefer it with a 'y') and Bobbie's a really sweet nickname - go for it, your DD has good taste!

MortifiedAdams · 15/10/2013 14:28

Robyn is a lovely name and Bobbie is a great nn.

sillyoldfool · 15/10/2013 16:39

Got to be with a y if it's for a girl IMO, with an i it's a boy or the bird!

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 15/10/2013 16:50

My smallest girl was nicknamed Bob for her first 3 years (til she told us with attitude her name was Belle!)

Love it.

Bumbolina · 15/10/2013 18:20

I'm so pleased it has so many positive responses! I think it's a definite, and will go with the 'y' spelling as I prefer it Smile

Glad I asked her - now I just need her to keep it secretGrin

IsleOfRight · 16/10/2013 00:18

Love it

AnotherStitchInTime · 16/10/2013 00:25

Lovely, she has good taste.

Dd1 (4) has decided that her baby brother should be called Simba, I am not so sure, I can see them singing the lion sleeps tonight to him at school.

Gorgeous. My little girl had bob as a nn when she was little too - I think because toddlers do bob about a bit.
