I don't need a lecture on how nicknames just evolve or on how you think it's stupid to name a kid and then call them by a NN.

I'd love to hear your favourite name + nick name combo,to help me fall in love with a new boys name.

I have a Lawrence and am planning to subtly instigate the nickname Ren.

Currently we call him Soren Lawrenson, Lawrence and the Machine or Lawrence Borrance. But he's only 11 months old so he can't tell us not to! My brother calls him Law which I think is quite cool.

LillyNotOfTheValley · 09/10/2013 00:23

I have an Antonia nn Taïa by DS.
LittleFaith I love the idea of combining the first and middle name to come up with a nn! Wilf is extremely cool. Envy

I like Rafael shortened to Rafa!

My friend shortens Genevieve to Evie - another has an Evelyn shortened to Evie, both of which are nice.

Anjou · 10/10/2013 11:10

If I had a friend called Finn or Finlay, I'd call them Huck (as in Huckleberry). The name Finlay is super-popular where I live so I'm sure I'll get the chance to use it when DS1starts school!

Layl77 · 10/10/2013 13:51
