Was warming to a girls name, which was in no way unique, but didn't think was going to 'take off' anytime soon... Now Ive heard it mentioned a fair few times on here. I reckon if you guys can guess it within say 10 posts, I'm heading towards a fad name Grin Go for it....

I love Margot, such a really beautiful name. You MUST use it.

Be careful what you believe on MN baby names though. I have allowed it to influence me through two pregnancies now and I regret it. You get a completely skewed perception of popularity and can easily be put off a name you love because posters tell you they know a dozen of them then, in reality, you never encounter a single one!

I agree with dylemma skewed perception is so true!

Take Thomas and Jacob, both popular names however I know no Thomas and only 1 Jacob (who's nearly 3)

My new ones middle name will be Margot. I'm really shocked to learn its popular on here. I thought it was really unusual. That's put me off a bit Grin

Exactly. My sister told me Thomas was 'dirt common' 6 yrs ago. I know 3 - all in his year. I am a cub leader and have had no Thomas' for about 11 yrs. Harry, however, or archie as she suggested. Loads.
