Thomas or Jacob- too popular?

These are two favourite names at the moment for DS2. DS1 is Noah. As a teacher, I have only met a few over the years, but these are high in the top ten names so wondered how common they really are.

I have a Jacob and the only other ones I know are either 3y older or 1y younger! Ds is 18m and it was no 5 the month he was born so there must be a huge clump of them somewhere! I didn't want a popular name when we were choosing but actually it hasn't been a prob and its more important to pick one you like!

Jacob is more popular than Thomas in my area. I think they're both lovely names though. Noah is gorgeous too.

Much prefer Jacob to Thomas.
I only know of 1 Jacob (aged 1) but several Thomas' (ranging from 2-52!)

I know one of each under 5 yrs. I think Thomas is more classic, I know ones in every decade whereas Jacob seems more trendy IYSWIM.

Both strong, solid names.
