As above really, thoughts on Lara?

Lara is my 4 year olds name so obviously I love it but I don't love having to keep correcting people who can't understand that her name isn't Laura.

Love it - one of my favourite names.

Not exactly to my taste, but a perfectly good name. I'd think of both Dr Zhivago and Tomb Raider.

I like it but I prefer Lana. I know a Lara who is nn La though and I really don't like the abbreviated version.

Generally I'm of lover of polysyllabic "frilly" girls names but have always liked Lara

It's my name and I love it! Hated it as a child. My nicknames however aren't great... La or LaLa (teletubbies )
And yes I'm always having to correct people who think that I'm Laura, especially Americans... They do t get it at all!

I have one but it was a compromise name. It has grown on me, but I preferred Clara and my husband preferred Elara. I still sometimes wonder if we should have called her something but its a bit late now.

We struggle with nicknames - trying not to call her Lars cos it is just too like a Swedish footballer.

Love it and I think tomb raider is old enough now for it not to be an issue. I like it as nn for Larissa too.
