Hi there,

Just looking for some honest opinions on the name Yasmin. We already have a son called James. I liked the name Jasmine but figured we couldn't really have two children who's names start with the same letter. So I thought Yasmin would be nice. But now I'm wondering if it is too unusual and doesn't really go with James. What do you think? Many thanks! x

Prefer Jasmine.

Yasmine will probably get shortened to Yazz. No likey.

Think we definitely prefer Jasmine over Yasmin at this stage. The only thing that's putting me off it is that, having initially said they would have different initials because the middle names are different, I now realise they would be exactly the same! How I failed to realise that both middle names start with the same initial is beyond me, hello baby brains!

I don't want to change the middle name as it is my mother's name and would really like to use it. So the only thing that would make them different is that one would be Master JBG and the other Miss JBG. Too weird?
