Hello,

Dd is due in October and we cannot decide on a name or even a possible 3. My rules are (yes I hAve rules) not in the top 100, max and seb both shot up the chart after my boys were born, although obviously not because I choose them. Must be a longer name which can be shortened.

I like: gabriella, raphaella, but my partner likes the idea of our daughter having initials, as in JP and so need to think of names which start with j and p.

Help........

Louisa
Elena
Helena
Constance
Elaine (doesn't shorten but I love!)
Katherine (my dd1 is one, Greek meaning "pure")
Eleanor
Dorothea
Francesca
Jacqueline
Olivia (though that might be top 10 -I'm not sure)
Susannah
Donalda
Alicia
Joanna
Hannah
Miranda
Mirrin
Bernadotte
Frances

My dds are Katherine and Rachel - I go for classic names.

I don't like your dp idea of initials - choose a classic name and use it!

I love Petra - which means rock so a really cool strong name for a woman. I like Gabriella but it would poss get shortened to Gabs or Gabby which I don't like so much. Petrina (little rock) also really lovely x

I thought instantly of Max, Seb and Sam (Samantha).

JP is not nice for a girl IMO.

Persephone is pronounced Per-Seff-On-Ee

BNmum · 27/08/2013 09:54

Jacinta
Juliette
Jocelyn

I like Juliette, Francesca and Kathryn spelt however but my dp not keen, Samantha is the name of the most recent ex girlfriend so as much as I like it esp as it would fit max and seb very well, it would seem a step too far to name his first daughter his ex's name. Lol

robinv you are lovely and make good suggestions

thank you for all your comment, food for thought, I'll keep them in mind.
