Opinions on this lot please,

DP prefers some more than others,as do I,but,we both could at least consider all the names on these lists.

We don't know the sex of the baby and we won't get to find out now,so I'd like a list of three of each.

Siblings Skye and Arlo,double barrelled surname P e r r y - G e o r g e
(Weird spacing a to avoid future googling...or something...)

Boys;

Asa
Otis

Jesse
Orin
Rufus
Wilbur

Girls short list:

Hebe
Etta
Ivy
Merryn
Flora
Oona/una

Asa is on my list for a future ds...Love the name.

Flora
Hebe
Ivy

In the above order! All beautiful! Have you long to go now?

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 21/08/2013 15:26

Ooh about three and a half months! It's whizzing past though!!

Your order is almost exactly the same as mine btw! Grin

Rufus (Asa as runner up)
Merryn (Hebe as runner up)

But with your username and thread title, it really should be Freya.

FingersCrossedLegsNot · 21/08/2013 15:30

FRIGG I think you may need to have another dc after this to use up some of your fantastic names!Wink

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 21/08/2013 15:37

YY to Freya...I always wanted it for DD1 but DP has unfortunate connotations with the name...that and it's popularity has entirely put me off.

FingersCrossed No nO No No No....this is our very last baby.
That's probably why I'm being so mental about the name! Grin

Rufus and Hebe are the nicest names

But

Orin and Una/Oona go better with your surname Smile

TenthMuse · 21/08/2013 15:40

Like most of these! Rufus top boys' choice, then Asa and Orin. Really dislike Wilbur - sorry but just can't see it on anything other than the pig from 'Charlotte's Web'!

Adore Merryn, then it's Hebe and Ivy as runners up. Not keen on Oona though.

forevergreek · 21/08/2013 17:59

Boy- Otis

Girl - Ivy

I like asa but wouldnt have with arlo as post problems ad too similar

( our favourites were Arthur and Ariana, so luckily we had two boys!)

Rhubarbgarden · 21/08/2013 18:03

Flora
Hebe
Ivy

All lovely. Not keen on the boys list, sorry, although I have a bit of a soft spot for Wilbur because of Charlotte's Web.

Laquila · 21/08/2013 18:03

Rufus

Merryn (this is in my top three!)
Etta
Flora

TBH I think the second two of the above girls' names sound better with your surname but Merryn is such a lovely name that you shouldn't let that put you off

Norfolknway · 21/08/2013 18:06

Ivy and Otis

Nephew and friends daughters names Grin

Oriunda · 21/08/2013 18:11

Boys - Wilbur, Rufus and Orin
Hebe for a girl (not so keen on the rest)

Well Flora,Ivy and Rufus and Asa are in both of our top 3 lists!

Although Asa may have to be crossed off.... Are Asa and Arlo just to similar?

OP posts:
UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 21/08/2013 21:21

I think we might have found our favourites Shock

Ivy and Rufus Grin

I think Flora and Wilbur are the current runners up.

How do they fit with the other DC and our surname to your ears?

OP posts:
Bowlersarm · 21/08/2013 21:27

Asa or Rufus

Flora

miffybun73 · 21/08/2013 21:28

Rufus and Merryn.

BlueStarsAtNight · 22/08/2013 01:29

I think your top choices sound really good with your other children's names and surname. Personally i like Ivy and Flora best for girls and Otis for boys, less keen on Rufus as to me it sounds like dogs name but it does go nicely when they're said together.

I would agree with scratching Asa due to Arlo being too similar.

Fingersandtoes · 22/08/2013 08:57

Hi

Congratulations on your pregnancy. We have an Arlo (brilliant name!) and love your short lists.

For boys, i think Rufus and Otis work best with your children's names. For the girls, I like Etta and merryn.

soontobeslendergirl · 22/08/2013 09:47

Yup, Ive just worked it out statistically based on your lists - hardly scientific really as the gaps between each name in terms of your rating are probably not equal (i.e you may like Flora and Merryn almost as much but have a bigger gap of "likeness" between Merryn and Hebe iyswim?)

Anyway, your top three should be :

Boys - Rufus followed by Asa and Otis
Girls - Ivy and Flora scored the same, but I'd put Flora first cos it's a nicer name cos you both rated it 2nd whereas your OH had Ivy 3rd. with Hebe in 3rd place.

roweeena · 22/08/2013 09:51

Wilbur
Etta/Ivy

soontobeslendergirl · 22/08/2013 09:52

Wibur came a close 4th to Otis but I can't say I like it that much personally but it does go with your surname

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 22/08/2013 09:54

Grin at working out the statistics!
