Could I garner opinions on these names? Due quite soon - just cannot decide! Looking for classy, not too popular, usual drill Wink

I really like Clara, Claudia, Eliza, Matilda and Tabitha. Not so keen on Eloise or Tamara.

Longdistance · 13/08/2013 16:13

Clara Grin

antshouse · 13/08/2013 16:13

Like Clara and Eliza. Not keen on the others.

thisisyesterday · 13/08/2013 16:14

i like Tabitha, Clara and Matilda

LauraChant · 13/08/2013 16:15

I like Clara and Eloise. Looks like Clara is winning!

MoonHare · 13/08/2013 16:18

Three of my faves there; Tabitha, Eliza and Matilda.

Claudia and Eloise are quite nice.

Clara conjures up unflattering images to me.

Don't like Tamara.

Kezztrel · 13/08/2013 16:20

Can't stand Clara, but I think I'm in the minority there.

Love Claudia, Matilda and Tabitha (the last two are mega popular though aren't they?)

Eliza and Eloise are very nice.

Not massively keen on Tamara, because I always picture the weird face of Tamara Beckwith when I hear it.

Kezztrel · 13/08/2013 16:22

Moon 'unflattering images' yes, that's what I get with Clara. It's a strange, dumpy sounding name to me Blush

IslaValargeone · 13/08/2013 16:24

Claudia is lovely.

newmammatobe3333 · 13/08/2013 16:24

Matilda is a lovely name. I would love this name if we have a girl, but DH not keen

TenthMuse · 13/08/2013 16:32

Favourite is Tabitha, closely followed by Claudia and Clara. Would be slightly put off by the meaning of Claudia, but this may not bother you.

Really like Eliza and Matilda too, but they're both very trendy at the moment. Eloise is fine but a bit meh compared to the others. Only one I dislike is Tamara - all Tamaras seem to be vacuous socialites!

MoonHare · 13/08/2013 16:33

'Dumpy' that's exactly what I think too Kezztrel!

PeriodMath · 13/08/2013 19:03

Kezztrel, are Matilda and Tabitha "mega popular" as you say? Matilda was around 50 on yesterday's ONS list and Tabitha wasn't even on it.

Like Clara and Matilda best.

Writerwannabe83 · 13/08/2013 19:36

I think Claudia is lovely Smile

riskit4abiskit · 13/08/2013 19:58

I wondered that about matilda - I like it to and it didn't seem popular on 'the list' but is often mentioned on this forum.

how many matildas do you know (of any age?) I know none, and i'm a teacher in the north.

Kezztrel · 13/08/2013 21:49

OP I know one Matilda and no Tabithas but was just going by their popularity on here - not quite the same as RL I guess.

Kezztrel · 13/08/2013 21:50

The Matilda I know has just been born :)

MummyBeerest · 13/08/2013 21:58

I love Clara. She was a close contender for my DD. Matilda is cute but classic to me. I like Tabitha too...it sounds almost mystical.

I knew one Claudia and she was gorgeous. She was like my first girl-crush.

Tamara all depends on how you pronounce it. Tam-ah-ra sounds nice, Tah-mare-a sounds yuck.

I don't love Eliza. It's just meh to me.

Eloise was a lunch lady at my school. She smelled like corn.

Disclaimer: just my opinion

jellybeans · 13/08/2013 22:00

Clara, Eloise, Matilda, Tabitha, all lovely

SoftSheen · 13/08/2013 22:01

Eliza!

quertas · 13/08/2013 22:03

I have an Eliza so I'm biased Grin

aufaniae · 13/08/2013 22:05

I love Eloise, Eliza, Matilda.

Tabitha's nice.

Not so keen on Tamara, Claudia, Clara

LauraChant · 13/08/2013 22:12

In terms of popularity I know one baby Tabitha and no young children by any of the other names, I know a Matilda in her teens. Am from East Anglia.

meditrina · 13/08/2013 22:18

I think they're all lovely (except Claudia).

Have you considered having a large family?
