Kathy? Cathy?

My mum and Gran are Kathleen and DH and myself are considering Katherine for our DD 2 due in October.

We know a few little Kates and Katies in particular so were wondering what people thought of the nickname Kathy?

is it totally old lady?
or cool and retro?

dm goes by Kath and dgm goes Kathleen or Kate?
we could maybe use kitty but my dads Mum was kitty and dm hated her :(

should we go with C or K

Not Cathy because Cathy Earnshaw irritates me no end.

Yes to Kathy because it looks nicer and I really love Simon and Garfunkel's Kathy's Song .

Im a Kathy, not shortened...think its more popular in America i get called Kath by some people

My daughter's friend is Kathleen.
Always the full name and sounds beautiful.

Another friend is Katharine with a great nick name, Kat.

Young women in town is Katherine and she is, Kate.

I know three women who are Catherine but called Cate.

I know three or four women with the full name, Kate.

I know one Kitty, two women named Kathy and three who use Cathy,

All Catherine/Katherine names are classic and lovely to my ear.
I also like Catriona and Katrina, Caitlin and Catrin.

Not keen on Kathy.

but Kate or kitty are nice or Katherine in full.

mother options could be Rina (potentially using Katerina) or Katrina or as someone else mentioned Lena

i know it is a name in its own right but you could go with Katy as a middle ground and have Katharine on the birth certificate?
