Juno Violet or Iris Clementine

I'm almost (almostWink) embarrassed to be starting another thread. But I'm nearly there with this naming malarkey!

So we have it down to these two. I love them both. We want something unusual but not ridiculously so, I think that both of these fit the bill. Though I think Iris runs the risk of entering the top100.

With regards to Juno the movie thing does not bother us at all so please don't let that sway your choice!

I love Juno, reminds me of Sean O'Casey's Juno and the Paycock rather than the film.

Bowlersarm · 04/08/2013 14:41

Juno, for me. (Although prefer it with the middle name Clementine)

FingersCrossedLegsNot · 04/08/2013 14:46

squoosh that is what I associate it with also!

Bowlersarm the middle names can be interchangeable. Smile

I like them both.

Out of curiosity what else was on your list?

QueLinda · 04/08/2013 15:16

I prefer Iris, less unusual but I think there's a trend for names ending in 'o' so Juno may date.

Iris is just more stylish imo too. Juno sounds a bit kooky.

FingersCrossedLegsNot · 04/08/2013 15:59

Ooh I Love them both!

And your boys names are all either on my list or the name of DS Grin

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 04/08/2013 16:56

I reckon keep both, and see what she looks like when she arrives...we have two girls names ready, although admittedly one is more likely to be her name and the other is a sort of back up...but you get the idea...

Allalonenow · 04/08/2013 16:58

Juno Clementine

FingersCrossedLegsNot · 04/08/2013 17:33

FRIGG Grin

Iris is too old-lady chic and will date quickly imo.

My vote is definitely Juno - lovely.

Ruby I think Violet will remain as a middle name, though it is beautiful!

They are both on my list!! I love Juno, DH prefers Iris. I'm not sure that Juno "flows" right with Violet though; it seems to call for a three syllable middle name.

FingersCrossedLegsNot · 04/08/2013 22:58

Petra...it's the exact same situation with me, dh prefers Iris!

Juno Violet....YESSS! It is fabulous.

kiwik · 04/08/2013 23:57

Juno Violet - love it.

Not keen on Clementine, as I never know whether to pronounce it teen or tyne at the end. And a friend's girl is known as Clemmie, which with a NZ accent sounds a lot like clammy.

I would vote for Juno Violet.

Juno Clementine

or Iris Juno

Love Juno and Clementine because of the films, latter being eternal sunshine even though Kate Winslett was a bit annoying.

Iris - as you know from last thread - love most flower names, the exception to the rule being Violet for irrational reasons as it looks and smells beautiful.

But Violet/Vi reminds me of Just William how old am i
and god rest her soul Bonnie Langford used to get on my nerves.
Plus Violet in Willy Wonka's a little madam and even in the Incredibles she's shrinking.
And I don't like parma violets most disgusting 'sweet' EVER

i did say it was irrational - don't get me started on Bluebell Grin

ravenAK · 05/08/2013 02:05

Violet Clementine - definitely best of both.

OrangeJuiceSandwich · 05/08/2013 11:33

Juno Violet.

Clammy Clemmie and oranges are all I think for Flementine.

OrangeJuiceSandwich · 05/08/2013 11:33

Typo. Clementine.

FingersCrossedLegsNot · 05/08/2013 16:18

I think I am starting to lean towards Juno Violet.

Do any of you think Juno sounds masculine....I know that ending in an O is usually masculine but does it actually sound butch to you.

I think it has an ethereal feel to it but that could be just me and my fanciful mind!!!

Juno is the goddess of childbirth. Each women had a Juno who was like their guardian Angel. Definetly not a butch name at all Grin

It's a strong name. I love that. Names like Clementine are frilly. Names like Juno sound beautiful yet still powerful.
