Do you think Marnie goes with Scarlett?

Dd is Scarlett - I have just discovered Marnie and have fallen in love with it! Do you think it goes well? So hard to find something that complements Scarlett, without it being too matchy!

yeah I think they fit well together

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 01/08/2013 16:42

Yes definitely.

Bowlersarm · 01/08/2013 16:43

I do.

Will you have it short for anything?

littlepeas · 01/08/2013 16:46

I still need to see what dh thinks, but no, it would just be Marnie - it is a name in its own right.

Love Marnie too. IMO, I'm not sure that it 'goes' with Scarlett in the sense that it's a similar type of name, but it's such a fab name I'd go for it.

GrimmaTheNome · 01/08/2013 17:38

I suppose they 'go' in the sense they're both names associated with movies. Are you a film buff? (people may assume so!) I really like the name Marnie but personally would hesitate to use it because of the film of that name but that's probably just me.

squoosh · 01/08/2013 17:45

I think they definitely have the same vibe. Love Marnie.

qazxc · 01/08/2013 17:48

They are both lovely names, and yes they do go together.

littlepeas · 01/08/2013 17:51

I don't really mean match - if I wanted the names to match I'd have Saffron or Amber or similar - more to complement one another and not sound at odds with each other.

Both Marnie and Scarlett are gorgeous names, but I don't think they particularly work together, scarlett is very fancy and marnie sounds a bit "everyday" in comparison. However, most people seem to call their kids "the girls" if talking about two sisters, so doesn't have to be an issue! Wouldn't worry too much, both are lovely :)

niffernaffer · 01/08/2013 19:42

I think they both sound great. I love Marni!

littlepeas · 01/08/2013 20:02

Dh hates it! Back to the drawing board.
