Is Zachariah a nice name for a baby boy?

I'm 34 weeks pregnant & am finding it hard to pick a nice suitable name for my unborn baby boy.
I want a name that is original, has a nice meaning and that he won't be judged on when he starts sch or applies for jobs etc..and Zachariah seems to fit that bill....
Zachariah, noah and Oscar are my choices in that order, but I really want to know what people think when they see or hear Zachariah...zack or zacky for short. surname is double barrelled.
I may be over thinking this but I think naming him well is really really important in this day and age.
What do you guys think??
Thanks in advance....

I really like it. Grin

I know a 2yr old Zachariah, he goes by Zach. Its nice.

DramaAlpaca · 31/07/2013 22:39

Zachariah is nice, Oscar is OK, don't like Noah at all Smile.

Rhubarbgarden · 31/07/2013 22:44

Too religious for me. Also I dislike very long boys names.

newbie6 · 31/07/2013 23:47

Love it but then I'm biased as my 6mth old son is Zachary, we call him Zach for short. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, if you love it go for it! X

MrsMongoose · 01/08/2013 00:08

Zachary is lovely. Zahariah seems too fussy and too religious for my taste.

AdoraBell · 01/08/2013 00:51

I think it's a lovely name. I also like Oscar but not Noah so much.

Wbdn28 · 01/08/2013 00:51

It's great, I like it. Makes a change from Zachary.

There's also Zacchaeus which you never, ever hear.

I like it. I mean, he's going to always be called 'Zac' by everyone, and it's quite a tricky name to learn to spell when you are 4 Grin but if you are ok with those, I think it's nice.
Noah is OK, but been used a lot recently.
Personally I don't like 'Oscar' - I keep hearing the phonetic alphabet ("yankee, hotel oscar" type thing) in my head when I hear it. I think Oscar is a nice name for an Alsatian.

Rtfairy · 01/08/2013 13:25

All 3 are lovely names, also really like Zachary.

MrsApplepants · 01/08/2013 13:36

All nice but not very original. I know at least 2 Zacks, 1 Noah and 4 Oscars!!

KittenofDoom · 01/08/2013 13:51

All three will date because they are fad names of the moment. I particularly dislike "Noah".

Wbdn28 · 01/08/2013 14:10

Love Zacchaeus. And Zebedee, for that matter!
