Let me have it! What do you think of Herb for a boy. Can't do Herbert. Really stumped for boys names!

Hmm
LaurieFairyCake · 31/07/2013 10:57

Herbert shortened to Herb fine.

Anything else fuckwitted. Wink

squoosh · 31/07/2013 11:06

No, no a thousand times NO.

mootime · 31/07/2013 11:19

OK. Clearly the hormones are doing strange things to me! I didn't think it was that bad...

CheeseFondueRocks · 31/07/2013 12:18

Like Herb the vegetarian dragon?

buttercrumble · 31/07/2013 12:20

Sage

Leeds2 · 31/07/2013 12:30

No.

Bowlersarm · 31/07/2013 12:31

Don't like it.

Herbie might be cute for a toddler but he would have to change his name aged about 3.

Sorry, back to the drawing board with you!

fanjodisfunction · 31/07/2013 14:32

I know of a Herbie, and that's his full name.

littlepeas · 31/07/2013 14:39

Americans seem to pronounce the same 'herb', but say 'erbs' for herbs. This has always baffled me.

littlepeas · 31/07/2013 14:39

Name, not same!

BinarySolo · 31/07/2013 14:45

I like Herbie. I don't see a problem with it as the full name as this is a generation of Alfies, Charlies and Archies etc so will hardly raise eyebrows in the future.

Rhubarbgarden · 31/07/2013 15:41

I don't usually like American names but I do like Herb.

ProudNeathGirl · 31/07/2013 15:46

Herbert is fine - shortened to Herb if you will (though prefer Bertie).

But Herb as a name???? NO. He won't thank you when he's older.

nooka · 31/07/2013 16:01

I've a work colleague called Herb, he seems OK with it. But we are in Canada and lots of people have names that seem slightly odd to my ears.

niffernaffer · 01/08/2013 19:49

Herb is great in my opinion. A suitably unusual!

bingeddybongo · 01/08/2013 20:51

I know a Herbert, known as Herbie, and it really suits him :)

colleysmill · 02/08/2013 19:41

There was a Herb at ds's nursery.

Never did find out if it was a nn or his full name.

sonlypuppyfat · 02/08/2013 19:43

Can anyone remember The Herbs on TV with Dill the dog?

LifeIsSoDifferent · 02/08/2013 19:48
