What do you think of Beatrix?

We are considering it for DD2 & the middle name will likely be Alana.
But I just wanted to know people's thoughts on the name?
DH loves it, thinks it's very cool (probably due to the kill bill association!)
It is really growing on me but I'm worried it might be a little old fashioned.
DD1 is called Elodie Sofia
Do you think Elodie & Beatrix sound good together?

Thanks everyone, your input is much appreciated!

Love it. But I am biased with a Beatrice myself (we went the French version because I wanted to avoid the Beatrix potter connotations and didn't like Trixie as a nn).

I love it but DH has vetoed it.

Mollie272 · 30/07/2013 18:12

I really like it, but would probably use Beatrice myself. Sounds lovely with Elodie

Tickledyellow · 30/07/2013 19:29

Beatrice is softer sounding than Beatrix... Elodie is feminine and beautiful and Beatrice rather than Beatrix (domanatrix!) is a more fitting match somehow. What I mean is Beatrice is equally soft and feminine!

FingersCrossedLegsNot · 30/07/2013 19:31

I adore Beatrix much much nicer than Beatrice!

Writerwannabe83 · 30/07/2013 21:45

I much prefer Beatrix Smile

Wbdn28 · 30/07/2013 21:45

I prefer Beatrice. Alana would be a lovely middle name.

Stixswhichtwizzle · 30/07/2013 22:04

Love it!

Katana · 31/07/2013 14:18

Thanks! We definitely prefer Beatrix as it sounds a bit more current and feisty. Beatrice is beautiful too & does sound more feminine but I fear we may be over-doing it with 2 French names - seeing as neither of us are French!
I love that Beatrix is a classic English name

It's a bit of a fuddy duddy name.
