I know one Felix. He loves the cat connection, reads the Felix the Cat comic from the 1930s and deliberately hunts the cat food with his name on.

Fifi2406 · 30/07/2013 16:37

None! It's lovely though Smile

harrietspy · 30/07/2013 16:38

I think it's lovely. Go for it.

I know one....he's about 30.

Rhubarbgarden · 30/07/2013 20:26

Four. One in his forties, one in his twenties, a six year old and a four year old.

peacypops · 30/07/2013 20:52

We are thinking of Felix for our next baby due soon. We have an Isaac already. Know of one other Felix who is around three. I love the name but have a feeling that it would get mixed reactions (with the cat connections - not that this bothers us)

JamieandtheMagicTorch · 30/07/2013 21:24

I can't help but think of cats.

RustyBear · 30/07/2013 21:28

I know one who's 11 and one who's 8, both in Berkshire. The 8 year old is the only one we've had at the junior school I work at (60 per year group) in the 13 years I've been there.

luckyclucky · 30/07/2013 21:56

Don't know any.

Jasper?

IAteTheCake · 31/07/2013 08:23

thanks for all the suggestions nothing is grabbing me or Dh. just spoke to him about it and he wants a name that is slightly unusual, could be used on a rugby player, a serious man in a job, a fun guy etc!!!!! names vetoed are Samuel, Hugo, Leo and the like, Jasper (too wimpy apparently!!!??), much of the lists above as they are not right !?!?! it is impossible!!! we have close friends with kids named Charlie, Jonah, Max, Sam, Theo, Rory, Alexander, etc so can't go down that route....plus we both have names starting with J so trying to keep away from more...Dd has an unusual name so the very English names may not fit....we also have Scandi & Mediterranean roots.....not easy!!!! help!!!! maybe Felix is the name unless anyone else can come up with anything?!

I taught a Felix 6 years ago, he will be 17 now and was a real sweety. I haven't met any others and like the name.

Admiraltea · 31/07/2013 11:36

Got one, he's 12 and a bit smelly..plays rugby lots and cricket, football, tennis...first word was kick.

He loves the name and it really suits him..reckon its going to work well when he's a bit older too as girls love giggling over the name and he lets them stroke his hair while he pretends to purr (according to his English teacher who thought it was hilarious) so goodness knows what will happen when he's a bit older.

Admiraltea · 31/07/2013 11:37

And when I say plays rugby lots went on his first away tour age 10 ..only half a tooth missing so far...

SavoyCabbage · 31/07/2013 11:41

I know one. He's four. He has a brother called Digby.

funnymummy2931 · 31/07/2013 11:44

Love Felix

Prioryfodder · 31/07/2013 11:48

I have one, but seldom hear of any others. Mine is lovely and has virtually never heard of the cat food. I think there's a Felix wine too. The name suits him - v sporty and all the things your husband wants, but also one of the nicest people I know!

JamieandtheMagicTorch · 31/07/2013 13:29

I am a bit confused. Felix isn't exactly shouting "rugby player" at me

JamieandtheMagicTorch · 31/07/2013 13:30

Sorry

No offence intended to anyone. I suppose it goes to show that a name isn't a person. Just thinking Felix is more cute/trendy than "manly"

tumbletumble · 31/07/2013 13:34

I know two, but neither live in the UK - one in Germany and one in NZ. Both have English parents.

5madthings · 31/07/2013 13:39

I know a few, one is ten? The others are all under six. We thought about using it for ds1 bit I couldmt get past the cat food link as my parents always fed their cats Felix and had the magnets on their fridge, ds1 is a Theo(dore) instead.

It is a lovely name :)
