Eleanor Rose or Aurelia Clare?

Our baby is due quite soon now (four weeks...!), and we have two names that we like. Do you prefer Eleanor Rose or Aurelia Clare? Our surname begins with S and has 2 syllables. Or any other suggestions?

Why not Aurelia Rose? Gorgeous! Both names are lovely, but I love Aurelia.

Goldenhandshake · 30/07/2013 10:12

I vote Aurelia Claire, very pretty Smile

I know, Aurelia Rose is gorgeous, though not if your surname starts with S!!

Ooh interesting, Claire or Clare? Maybe Claire looks better with Aurelia?

Aurelia Clare

JamieandtheMagicTorch · 30/07/2013 10:54

I like Claire better. My best friend at Primary school was Claire

Absy · 30/07/2013 10:56

Prefer Claire with an i.

Very pretty names! Though Eleanor Rose reminds me (a bit) of Eleanor Roosevelt (not necessarily a bad thing)

fanjodisfunction · 30/07/2013 10:58

Aurelia Clare, with that spelling too. (But might be biased as its my name)

Eleanor Rose is pretty too but Aurelia Clare sounds great and more unique!

CheeseFondueRocks · 30/07/2013 11:26

Eleanor Rose. Aurelia sounds daft unless you have the mediteranian surname to go with it.

Thanks so much for the feedback, useful food for thought!

Aurelia is a fabulous name, one step beyond Eleanor in coolness and beauty IMO. Either middle name would go.

TolliverGroat · 30/07/2013 14:26

Both are good; have you considered having a second DD? Grin

I think Aurelia would just pip Eleanor to the post for me today, but I might have the opposite opinion tomorrow...

zingally · 30/07/2013 14:37

Both are pretty. I'd mix it up and go for Eleanor Claire though! Claire is my mums name.

showtunesgirl · 30/07/2013 14:38

How about Aurelia Clara?

Rhubarbgarden · 30/07/2013 15:00

Aurelia Clare. Lovely.

SO many Eleanor Roses...

Mollie272 · 30/07/2013 17:30

Both are pretty, I think I prefer Eleanor Rose

CruCru · 30/07/2013 18:13

Eleanor Clare.

yournotfat · 30/07/2013 18:16

Aurelia Claire

OrangeBlossom2 · 31/07/2013 10:08

Aurelia Claire for me.

soontobeslendergirl · 31/07/2013 10:14

Eleanor Rose for me - I can't get past Aurelia sounding too much like Areola :(

Aworryingtrend · 31/07/2013 10:14

Ds would have been Eleanor Rose if he had been a girl.
