I'm having my first child (a boy) in three months (ish) and am trying to get a list of possible names together.

I love TONS of names, but OH is very fussy and once he likes one or two is like 'that's enough now, no need to look any more'!

So far we have...

Reuben (his fave)
Oscar (my fave, though my mum keeps telling me she doesn't like it which is very annoying!)
And new to the list, Taylor.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Really like Reuben and Oscar. And like both abbreviations too. Not so sure about Taylor...

SoupDragon · 28/07/2013 12:49

Really don't like Taylor.

Of the other two, I think I prefer Reuben to Oscar but both are fine names :)

Hashtagwhatever · 28/07/2013 12:51

Dont like Taylor or rueben

Oscar is nice.

Writerwannabe83 · 28/07/2013 12:51

Definitely Rueben Smile

I am not a fan of the name Oscar - it sounds more like a strange noise than a name Grin

pygmy · 28/07/2013 12:53

Oscar

Ruththetooth · 28/07/2013 13:01

Reuben and Oscar are both nice. Depends which one goes best with your surname.

Frikadellen · 28/07/2013 13:39

I never cared for Reuben and not aided by the fact the 4 I have met have all been whiny lil boys so I would say Oscar or Taylor I prefer Oscar

Englishroses · 28/07/2013 13:44

Oscar v v popular if that makes a difference?

Feelslikea1sttimer · 28/07/2013 13:50

I know a Reuben and a Taylor, they are both in my sons under 15 cricket team, I like both names, not keen on Oscar though...

Whatever you decide your baby will grow into their name :) it's so hard choosing, we had loads of boys names but we are having a girl and we can't get it down to 2 or 3 so you are doing well.

VBisme · 28/07/2013 13:58

I like Rueben and Oscar, not so keen on Taylor.

GW297 · 28/07/2013 14:06

Oscar

2kidsintow · 28/07/2013 14:08

There's a Reuben just up the road. His parents call him Rubes or Rubie (which just reminds me of a girls name).

I like Reuben and Oscar too.

Taylor makes me think of a girls name too. I've taught a Tyler, which is a name I liked. But then I taught a girl Tyler and a boy Tyler too.

Dirtymistress · 28/07/2013 14:14

Reuben is lovely. Taylor is vile, and Oscar is too popular.

Stat · 28/07/2013 14:32

I like Taylor.

I like Reuben too, but I see it as being very trendy, so that would put me off.

I don't like Oscar. Agree with the person who said it sounds more like a strange sound than a name.

Rtfairy · 28/07/2013 14:35

Definitely Oscar Smile

CappuccinoCarrie · 28/07/2013 14:38

Reuben a gorgeous name. I know a couple and they're both delightful. There are Oscars everywhere here. Not keen on Taylor at all I'm afraid!

Oscar, definitely

stopprocrastinating · 28/07/2013 15:56

Love the name Oscar

Leeds2 · 28/07/2013 16:05

Tbh, I am not very keen on any of them.

If I had to, probably Reuben or Oscar. Likely Reuben, as my friend has a dog called Oscar!

Still18atheart · 28/07/2013 16:16

Order of preference

  1. Oscar
  2. Taylor
  3. Reuben
FromageFrog · 28/07/2013 16:39

Taylor = a surname

Oscar = very very popular a few years ago.

Reuben = Very popular right now.
