Website where people comment about their own names...

My friend told me about a website where people can contribute their thoughts on growing up with their own name. Does anyone know what the website is called? Despite extensive searching I can't find it! Thought it might be useful and fun. Thanks

On Behind the Name people can leave comments on names. Sometimes a person who has that name will leave a comment

Even if you find the site you could bear in mind that the experiences of (say) an Oscar born in 1971 would be totally different to an Oscar born in 1999 and 2013.

1971 - reactions would be extreme shock, "like the bear?"
no. like the famous celebrated writer!

oh. right. My friend's Irish Wolfhound is Called Oscar.

1999 - 'oh I love that I wanted to called Charlie Oscar but DH doesn't agree with me that it's a cool name'.
There are a couple of others out there I know, but we wanted him to have an unusual name!

2013 - oh right, that's nice.

I used to see this all the time when I did a generic baby name search in google. One of the first websites that came up would have an " Is your name......?" at the bottom of every baby name that you searched. I looked recently for the same thing and can't find it anywhere!

This is by far my fave baby naming website, their database is huge and really comprehensive. And people also comment on what possible nickname issues might crop up.

Also see this one, www.babynamewizard.com where there's a few comments from people but this also shows popularity of your chosen name around the world.

Yeah, that was a bit arrogant with 'its...', also missed the old apostrophe there! Anyway, this is the site that I use in your suggested context - I am sure there are many more out there :-)

... now back to work, this baby name obsession is becoming quite wearing and overtaking my life! I need a new focus (oh yeah, work!).
