For a girl - Lorelei with Lila for short.

Thoughts? :)

Pronounced LauraLee?

I think it's lovely, but I'm unsure how you got came to Lila as a nickname (which is also a lovely name by the way).

Unless I'm pronouncing it wrongly?

I loveeee Lorelei! It's a character that Marilyn Monroe played in Gentlemen prefer blondes

Don't shorten it though! Smile

Fifi2406 · 24/07/2013 19:54

It's pronounced Laura lie

MoreThanWords · 24/07/2013 20:01

Yes morethan* that's where I first heard it :)

Dp not keen so suggested nickname of Lila to make it more appealing to him. He likes Delilah you see.

Lovely name, made me think of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes too (one of my favourite films!)

Made me think of Gilmore Girls too! But that's a good thing

Lovely name, love it

Very glad of the positive responses so far! Dp very almost hates it so I told him I would put it to the MN vote Grin

I don't like it. Too frilly and with a whiff of stripper about it.

floatyflo · 25/07/2013 17:49

Whiff of a stripper?? Hmm

Okaaay :)

I love it! The book is better than the film the way!

TruJay · 25/07/2013 22:07

I always thought it was lovely in Gilmore Girls too, don't really think Lila works as a nickname though as it doesn't seem to connect if u know what I mean. Lila is lovely as a name on its own x
