I really like Florestine. Do you like or hate it?

Have never come across this name before. As a general rule I'm not keen on names that end in 'ine' (Justine, Christine, Claudine etc.) as it's a little harsh-sounding. If you want a variant on Florence what about Floella, Fleur, Florencia or Florenza?

MoreThanWords · 23/07/2013 19:09

I think it sounds like an antidepressant tablet, or a contraceptive. (sorry!)

vix206 · 23/07/2013 19:15

Really unhelpful but for some reason it reminds me of philistine...

Agree it reminds me of the name of a contraceptive pill.

Sorry OP!

GermanGirlinLDN · 23/07/2013 20:17

Thanks. Having pronounced the name in English rather than in German I agree. Hmm

Leeds2 · 23/07/2013 20:37

Fraxinus · 23/07/2013 22:59

Is is flo- rest- Tina in German then?

Not sure really. Like the name meaning of the forest: sylvonna, Sylvina, or best of all for a boy sylvan.

Ruprekt · 23/07/2013 23:00

Sounds like the name of a wanna be florist.

GinAndaDashOfLime · 23/07/2013 23:02

Sounds like a toothpaste or anti depressant .. Sorry!

idiot55 · 23/07/2013 23:03

Spunds to me like a pasta sauce.

Maud2011 · 23/07/2013 23:06

I haven't heard it before, not really keen, it sounds like air freshener.

How about Florentine?

blondieminx · 23/07/2013 23:08

Sounds like florentine so puts me in mind of a biscuit

Maud2011 · 23/07/2013 23:09

Haha I forgot the biscuits! Still think Florentine (and Florentina) are pretty!

vix206 · 24/07/2013 06:20

I like Florentine too Smile

GermanGirlinLDN · 24/07/2013 13:05

Thrush treatment for over active vaginal flora.

Makes me think of forests. I like Florentine much more.

Florence, Florentina, Clementine?

nemno · 24/07/2013 14:35

I would pronounce the end of Florentine like 'teen' but Valentine like 'eye n' .

vix206 · 24/07/2013 20:08

toastedteacake · 24/07/2013 20:14

ShadowMeltingInTheSun · 25/07/2013 07:31
