What about Frankie?

We are going to name our little boy Frankin, he'll be Frankie for short. I have never met any Franklins or even met a 'Frankie'. Even after 11 years of primary school teaching in about 8 different school.

What do people thinK? I'm suddenly having a panic! What if it's a horrible name?! I love it and our little boy has become Frankie already but i'm worrying what people will think.... It's not the kind of name that people go...'ahh that's a nice name' about. We haven't told anyone but i did test it on a hairdresser the other day and she looked at me as if i'd just told her we were calling him Jesus or something.

evelynj I LOVE jasper too. Great name. It was also on our list.

I have 2 Frankies in my class (both 4yo). Neither are short for anything. I've taught several older Frankies.

I have a Frank and get lots of cool name comments.

My daughter is 16, has a good friend called Frank/Frankie (Francis I think) and one called Frankie, but she's a Francesca. I like it for boys and girls.

Loved it for a girl but dh vetoed it as " the girl from the Saturdays with the wonky hair put him off"

Hi OP just wondering did you go for franklin in the end and what have peoples reactions been since?

I know 3 girl Frankies and 2 boy ones. Love it (high school teacher)

It's nice, but I would have said more for a girl.
