Pippa

JazzAnnNonMouse · 10/07/2013 22:45

OP posts:
ethelb · 10/07/2013 22:49

Blow job in greek

MonParapluie · 10/07/2013 22:57

It was worth coming on this thread for Pippa alone

othersideofchannel · 10/07/2013 23:04

And Pippi means wee in German Grin

steppemum · 10/07/2013 23:11

we once had a cat called Kizzy. It was the name of a girl in a TV programme when I was a kid

Only problem was we live din Saudi Arabia at the time. My mum used to go outside and call

Kiz Kiz Kiz Kiz Kizzy.

Much later a friend told us that Kizz(y) in Arabic is a slang word for vagina!! Blush

AllegraLilac · 10/07/2013 23:12

Hilarious thread already.

SanityClause · 10/07/2013 23:13

Ha! Kizzy, the pussy! Wink

JazzAnnNonMouse · 10/07/2013 23:15

Brilliant! Grin

The other way round but I always snigger at vater (pronounced farter) being the German for Dad!

OP posts:
iklboo · 10/07/2013 23:36

Grossvater (gross farter) - German for grandfather cracks DS up every time.

PoppyWearer · 11/07/2013 06:58

Isn't Pippa something similar in Italian as well?

JustCallMeBaldrick · 11/07/2013 07:13

I believe Zac sounds very similar to 'shit' in Arabic.

sashh · 11/07/2013 08:41

I've heard that Pippa is the same in Italian too.

FairyArmadillo · 11/07/2013 09:35

Lola means "grandma" in the Philippines.

HeirToTheIronThrone · 11/07/2013 09:37

A bit roundabout, but one of my fave French names is Aurelie, until it was pointed out that all English people would pronounce it Orally...

NooMyx · 11/07/2013 10:07

God I'm thick... spent ages thinking what's funny in Grossvater. Blush

I've vetoed Persephone, because perse means an arse in Finnish.
We also won't have Tori (market place) or Lou (sounds like luu = bone). I'm sure there are others but brain not working.

forgetmenots · 11/07/2013 10:31

Orla (my favourite girls name) - apparently is Hebrew for foreskin

WildlingPrincess · 11/07/2013 10:36

Apparently Beth is Dutch for cunnilingus.

TalkativeJim · 11/07/2013 11:14

Pam is Welsh for 'why?'

Choccyhobnob · 11/07/2013 11:18

See you're a Gavin and Stacey fan Jim lol

alexpolismum · 11/07/2013 13:53

Camilla means "camel" in Greek

"Lisa" means "rabies" in Greek

Blatherskite · 11/07/2013 13:58

Pippa is wank in Italian I believe.

CrisisCritical · 11/07/2013 14:02

Jim Choccy ... or Brick, right? Wink

Moche · 11/07/2013 14:04

Astrid means arse kick (as opposed to kick arse) in German.

ByHecuba · 11/07/2013 14:08

Orla is generally translated from the Hebrew into English as foreskin or uncircumcision.
Sukey means 'bitches' in Russian.
Kiki is slang for fanjo in Tagalog.
